How it works

Built for coaching people in their own homes

SLC is about a person's own apartment, budget and bills. Waiversoft tracks the papers, reviews and visits that come with it.

The SLC file

A 97535UC line sets up the supported living file

Add a Supported Living Coaching line (97535UC) to a person's consumer record and Waiversoft knows they get SLC. Once your agency has picked its provider type, their checklist gains the SLC documents: the Functional Community Assessment, the Initial Housing Survey, the lease or mortgage, the financial profile and the implementation plan. For what each one has to say, see our Supported Living Coaching guide.
  • Services on active authorizations are added to the person automatically
  • A Personal Supports and SLC coordination slot appears only for people who get both
  • Implementation plans keep the current copy and the previous one

Reviews and summaries

Home visit reviews and summaries on a calendar

Each person on SLC gets the SLC Quarterly Home Visit and Health & Safety Review as a recurring report, next to the summaries and the Annual Report. Choose monthly or quarterly summaries once in Settings › Preferences. Each report stays green while it's current, turns amber when the next one comes due, and red when that one is a month late.
  • One setting decides monthly or quarterly summaries for the whole agency
  • The Annual Report is tracked yearly either way
  • Late reports count against the record's readiness and your dashboard

Coaching notes

Notes that show what the person did on their own

The SLC note template asks the coach what they coached on (budgeting, paying bills, meal planning, grocery shopping, home upkeep, medical appointments, community resources, lease or housing) and how much help each took: done alone, a reminder, verbal guidance or hands-on help. Then it asks about the goals in the implementation plan, the person's own choices and words, health and safety, and the next steps the two agreed on. More on visit notes.
  • Coaches answer one question per screen, or talk and let the AI tidy the wording
  • Flags notes that are too short, name no goal or repeat earlier notes
  • The office approves each note, and can hold billing until it does

Billing

Quarter hours from the coach's clock times

SLC bills in quarter hours. Waiversoft counts each visit's minutes from the clock-in and clock-out, rounded to the nearest unit, and prices it at the rate on the authorization line. Pick the 97535UC preset and the line is pre-filled with the July 2026 iBudget rate for your area and provider type, which you can change. Then build the claim on the billing page.
  • Units left on the authorization show before you book a visit
  • Visits with no note, an unapproved note or no clock-out are held back
  • Download an 837P claim file or a worksheet for keying claims by hand

FAQ

Questions about Supported Living Coaching in Waiversoft

How does Waiversoft know a person gets Supported Living Coaching?

From their authorization: a service line with code 97535UC marks them as getting SLC. You can also tag the service on the person by hand.

What if the person also gets Personal Supports?

When a person gets both Personal Supports and SLC, their checklist adds a Personal Supports and SLC Coordination slot. People who get only one of the two don't see it.

Can we file summaries quarterly instead of monthly?

Yes. Settings › Preferences has a Monthly or Quarterly choice for summaries. The quarterly home visit review and the Annual Report are tracked on their own schedules either way.

How are SLC units counted?

In quarter hours: each visit's minutes from clock-in to clock-out, divided by 15 and rounded to the nearest unit, so an 8-minute visit is one unit and a 7-minute visit is none.

Is the 97535UC rate fixed?

No. The preset fills in the July 2026 iBudget rate for your area and provider type, but the rate on each authorization line can be changed to match your authorization.

What does it cost?

SLC is covered by the one Waiversoft plan, $20 per consumer per month. Office staff and coaches are free.
